blueprints Posted December 7, 2018 #1 Posted December 7, 2018 I read about the advent Challenge too late, It was already day 4 so I wont be able to try for that .005 btc prize for doing all 25 days. But I was busy during those days! I didnt even look at forums that week. I mean i guess its still fair to reward the attentive players. I think there should be notifications sent out a bit ahead of time for these big time sensitive kind of Challenges. I check my email every day. Anyone else in the same boat as me?
Cheetos1337 Posted December 7, 2018 #2 Posted December 7, 2018 I came home after school on Decemeber first thinking I would be able to do the challenge, to my great surprise, they use a different timezone and DEC 1st was already over and DEC 2nd was starting. I literally missed the first one because they used some fucking Australian timezone or some dumb shit. It fucking pisses me off -.-
bmg Posted December 7, 2018 #3 Posted December 7, 2018 Sorry to hear that Blue. I also to think that there should be some kind of notification sent out in advance like maybe an email a couple days or even a week before. this was a big challenge and even and it should have been announced loud and proud way before it began.
bexy1980 Posted December 7, 2018 #4 Posted December 7, 2018 Ya, Blueprints, I had some trouble too, though my situation was a little different. I had to wait for a new bank card to be delivered by post, which rendered me unable to access my account until then and therefore was unable to purchase any cryptocurrency (as I was completely tapped out). By the time I had purchased and (after 2 more days) finally received my crypto in my wallet there was little to no time left to do the Day 1 Challenge. This isn't a complaint directed at Stake.com by any means, I know that sh*t happens, but your idea about receiving an email to notify members of these big time-based challenges is one that I'd definitely support. That way we may be able to organise ourselves a bit better (this would include improving my post count here on the forum as per the challenge rules) ☺️
BLXN Posted December 7, 2018 #5 Posted December 7, 2018 The payout pools are just bust-bait, in my opinion .. 0.05 split between 100 people. . lolz.
eldrindcm Posted December 7, 2018 #6 Posted December 7, 2018 I have received an email regarding the advent event last Nov. 29, I know it's just few days left before the start of the said event but at least they did sent a reminder about it. Imo, it's no one's fault, it's the timing that didn't favored the players in the same situation like you. 26 minutes ago, Cheetos1337 said: I literally missed the first one because they used some fucking Australian timezone or some dumb shit. Do I have to add anything else? The December seventh event is already going and it's not even December seventh for me yet, so that fucked me up big time on day one.
Carollzinha Posted December 7, 2018 #8 Posted December 7, 2018 I actually agree with @eldrindcm.. timezone for challenges, giveaways and so have always been GMT and it was never changed About the email I didn't even checked it so I have no idea if I received it or not lol but yeah for sure if it was not sent it should have been as it is a really big promo with so many entertaining challenges that people definitely enjoy playing (including myself ) As for the prize still be given for "attentive players" I find a bit unfair with the others that have been doing it from the start and surely it would bring some drama inside the community

Uh, OP is not talk about that, it's about the 0.005 bonus in the end of the christmas event. Players who complete all 25 days, will be awarded special bonus of 0.005 BTC in the end.

Now I don't know where the Stake owners are from, but shouldn't the timezone be PST?

The fault is not on the side of Stake then. Since the challenges has always been based on GMT, the announcement also shows "GMT", then we should expect that all daily challenges will be and will always be on GMT.

blueprints Posted December 7, 2018 Author #13 Posted December 7, 2018 Dang, Thanks guys for sharing your unfortunate situations that lead to missing out on this challenge like me. Atleast im not alone Perhaps they didnt really think about notifying due to so much excitement they had over it. They must have been more excited to start it themselves! lol jk but i hope they happen to look over this topic and announce or notify any similar kind of challenges or giveaways in the future. Atleast for their wagering players.
williamshennie9 Posted December 7, 2018 #14 Posted December 7, 2018 I think the idea for these challenges are for them to encourage people to be extremely active, and check the forum often. So yeah, I guess it is a pity that you missed out on the first few days, but at least you'll get prizes for all the days you do manage to complete.
Paecga129 Posted December 7, 2018 #15 Posted December 7, 2018 Same here blue !!! I hear ya completely and I must have missed the post or something that outlined the prize for the .005 for getting all day!! Guess we wait and participate next year huh !
Xylber Posted December 7, 2018 #16 Posted December 7, 2018 It was announced on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram and BitcoinTalk. If you are following Stake, you knew it!
Shaniqua Posted December 7, 2018 #17 Posted December 7, 2018 Stake does have a in chat notification or ‼️📣🔈 announcment:::: system in place i remember which was developed a long time ago but it never ended up being used. Dan knows what im talkif about huh? i remember suggesting it be used in cases like this or in general when chalanges are posted and about to expire like a in game notificayion in chat not sure why its not used hehe

There is 24 hours for these daily challenges but we announced the start of them couple days in advance. Hopefully you are all now caught up and will keep on participating in our fun challenges.

If you always want a chance at winning something bigger, it's best to look after your funds rather then gamble it all away before the next daily challenge. I do get a lot of pms often explaining they have busted and need a little help. So to everyone, please vault your savings and you won't any need to struggle and ask for help, even if its 10k sats, still better then nothing, just vault your savings so you have funds each day for advent. I appreciate the first sentence since its the only part that has much relevance to the post. No one is complaining about having missed the first few days. You might have overlooked the giant .005 btc prize that the challenge highlights in its first topic. If you miss one day out of all the 25 days then you also miss your chance at the .005 btc reward. Big pity 34 minutes ago, DusanD said: Everyone got this for sure. Shaniqua Posted December 7, 2018 #22 Posted December 7, 2018 Who knows maybe stake wouldbe kind enough to give some sort of forgiveness day to those who missed just one of rhe challenges i eneded up missing one too cause at work and i gave up lol

That sucks blue i kinda had worse expirance with day one. Most everyone knows my wife is bmg and since the begining here at stake its been excepted and allowed for us both to enter contest even though we often are on the same ip we had done enough to show we are 2 separet people so the alt rule didnt applyto us. But after completeing and posting the first day contest when the prizes were paid i suddenly was not eligable any more. Our accounts are connected and even though we have both been a part of this community from its start only one of us can post for a give awsy so we did not get to go for the prize this year. Just feels like Stake is losing that personal attention to its players that brought us here from the start.
77kdub Posted December 7, 2018 #25 Posted December 7, 2018 I was pretty bummed out when I wasn't able to complete the first day because I had fallen asleep, which of course ruined my chance of completing all 25 days. When a wasn't able to hit x420 on plinko I didn't feel so bad because that one I just couldn't hit at no fault of my own lol
