So if something is both useful and scarce, it will demand a value and a price. Bitcoin is both useful and scarce, so it has a value and a price, determined by supply and demand. Now it's price. When bitcoin started on 2009 it has no value, because there is no exchanges or market, users were mainly cryptography fans who were sending bitcoins for hobby purposes representing low or no value. In March 2010, user "SmokeTooMuch" auctioned 10,000 BTC for $50 (cumulatively), but no buyer was found. On March 2010 it's first exchange value was $0.003 and as time goes by, it's price goes up. On December 2017 it's price went up to $19,783.06. Imagine if you bought a $3 bitcoin when it started on 2009 and withdrawn it on December 2017. Dude, me and my girlfriend discovered something similar to our idea of home casino, since we are lazy ass people, the kind of people that loves to gamble and sleep.
