Laura2000 Posted January 19, 2019 #1 Posted January 19, 2019 Hi Stakers, I have been reading a lot of times people don't know the rules, so, my recommendation it's easy, when new players sign up Stake could force to read the rules and accept it. It could be done when the new player is capable to access to the chat, so, nobody could say don't know the rules, what do you think?
irawk0 Posted January 19, 2019 #2 Posted January 19, 2019 Definitely support. Make it similar to popup guides for each game, where you'd have to scroll to the bottom and click "I accept these rules" to be able to continue to the actual website.
Kate Posted January 19, 2019 #3 Posted January 19, 2019 That would be a good thing and also they could add questions so that they do read the rules
williamshennie9 Posted January 19, 2019 #4 Posted January 19, 2019 It would be difficult to implement. I mean when most people install software, they just accept the terms and conditions without reading it

Guest Posted January 21, 2019 #7 Posted January 21, 2019 I've been talking about this with Seuntjie for quite some time now, but there were issues with message length, so we couldn't do it easily. There are some things that have changed since then, maybe it is possible now. We had in mind sending a PM to the user as soon as he appears in the chat for the first time where we would point out the rules. Sounds like a good solution to me for those who actually read, but we will always have those that don't.

I also have a suggestion about this one too, If devs can make a popup to newcomers player that going to jump in the chat room and explaining all rules, it would be great. I think dev can make one of that. Not only at chat room, but also at forum. So, nobody would avoid a warning because they don't know the rules. They should read it first before jump in here too. I believe if the popup can't be closed until 10 seconds, they automatically forced to read the rules. That is just my opinion about that.
Owly Posted January 21, 2019 #9 Posted January 21, 2019 It's all good, but not knowing the rules, does not exempt from liability.
FotisNt Posted January 21, 2019 #10 Posted January 21, 2019 I guess it would be great if stake add a feature which shows new users the rules when they sing up for the first time.
nikowin88 Posted January 21, 2019 #11 Posted January 21, 2019 Well all thise sugestions sounds as good idea. I like particularly the one from irena, sending a pm when the newcomer first join chat. At least people wont try the "didnt knew" excuse anymore. But what ever dev and support can imagine to bring rules to everyone there will always be people that doesnt read or worse doesnt even care about those rules. So my question is : isnt it too much dev time involved for something that is mostly well treated by mods with mute tool ( some would say hammer ^^ ). I mean scammers, cheaters and beggars are more or less a minority and are for most of them unable to respect rules and other player so why try to bring them back to right path ? In the other hand, we, respectfull and regular ppl, can sometimes break one rule, and be warn by a light mute like few hour or a full day but after that lesson is learned ajd we can move on. Like it was once the case for me...

Sounds like a good solution to me for those who actually read, but we will always have those that don't. The new limit of $100 to chat has really decreased the amount of spam in the chat. It is really a good start to removing the spam and beggars, because users have to deposit to chat (since getting to $100 from the faucet is almost impossible).
Dan Posted January 29, 2019 #13 Posted January 29, 2019 This is a very useful suggestion. This would also give us a reason to ensure we update our rules and guidelines to be more inline with the growth of our community and the direction we would like it to go. I will add to the development list for the future.
bicoinman Posted January 29, 2019 #14 Posted January 29, 2019 nice idea this suggestion should apply to newcomers on the chat to avoid explaining why they were mutated after Cheers.,,......!
Guest Posted January 31, 2019 #15 Posted January 31, 2019 Update: Thanks to @hui for creating a WelcomeBot that is automatically sending the rules as soon as a new member writes in the chat for the first time. It's making our lives easier, and it's also preventing new users from getting muted over something they were not familiar with. Maybe devs will think of something else in the future, but this was a quick solution and it's working as intended.
polor12 Posted January 31, 2019 #16 Posted January 31, 2019 how would u know they read the rules.. would there a test..what if they didnt pass.. they wont be able to join..i say let them learn it along the way..people thats been here longer broke some rules..

I think the test idea is good too, but maybe harder to implement. I wonder one thing, do the rules appear in different languages like if you go to Filipino room do you get sent to rules in Filipino language because not everyone can read one langauge

We would not know if they have read it, but we would know that they have had a definitive chance to do it. Whether they opted this out or not, is not of our concern, but "I didn't know the rules" can definitely not be used as an excuse anymore 😉 9 hours ago, Hoffguy said: great idea! i saw welcomebot and noticed he was saying rules to new users recently, that's a great idea.
