wngo123 Posted July 16, 2019 #1 Posted July 16, 2019 Recently Donald Trump tweeted that he doesn't like bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. He said that the only currency in the U.S. is US dollar. Many people freaked out about this statement claiming the war on cryptocurrency is coming and massive restrictions could be implemented by U.S. government. I'm not from the U.S., but of course any law that is introduced in the U.S. could have substantial impact around the world. Other government might copy it or be forced by the USA to introduce restrictions on cryptocurrency otherwise they might get sanctions. May people worry, but I just learnt that Kevin McCarthy , the Reublican PArty leader in Congress said that he "likes bitcoin". It gives us a hint that there won't be majority in the Congress to pass such legislation (if introduced, although there isn't any at the moment). Here is the link: What do you think guys? Is war on cryptocurrency coming soon or is it just another Trump's tweet people talk about, but nothing actually will happen.
Sledge Posted July 16, 2019 #2 Posted July 16, 2019 It won't come I guess, or if it will come im sure that there are people in Congress that will fight for it, because there are already sites based on U.S. that might be affected and people who uses bitcoin there as well. And the thing is, if it will come soon, is it going to affect the bitcoin price? And other crypto currency? Let's just hope that it wont come! 😂 And I hope stake is not based on U.S. so we will be safe? 😂 Kidding lol
Kate Posted July 17, 2019 #3 Posted July 17, 2019 I don't think that trump can do anything to stop something that is out of his hands but still he can restrict usa residents from using bitcoin by blocking a lot of sites and a lot of things.

Yes I agree about that, including this site, it can be banned in U.S if that'll happen
SammyA123 Posted July 18, 2019 #5 Posted July 18, 2019 I have heard many people tell me over and over again that bitcoin is dead. After a little while though it always rebounds stronger and stronger. I think bitcoin has reached the stage now where even if the US imposes additional regulations on it, it will still continue to grow. People will just do it unofficially, like they have been doing with pot for years there. Then eventually it will be legalized again, just like with pot. Restrictions imposed by government in the land of the free seldom seem to work. Wars launched by US presidents on Drugs and Terrorism seem to have costed a lot and failed with their actual impact on the citizens. A war on cryptocurrency is doomed in my opinion too.
Qvvaser109 Posted July 18, 2019 #6 Posted July 18, 2019 He hasn't started a war on cryptocurrency. He just said he doesn't like them. He is the President of the United States. He HAS to show pride in the US dollar. Furthermore, he knew his Tweet would effect the market. You can be certain that he already had a very low buy order in when he made those Tweets.
wry Posted July 18, 2019 #7 Posted July 18, 2019 I think his main target was Facebook's Libra. Ironically, at first most thought his tweet would be GOOD for Bitcoin and the price actually moved up. Sort of the old cliche about no such thing as bad publicity. However, since then, there has been a HUGE backlash against Libra which I think has negatively effected sentiment for most cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin. See:
Lexus19 Posted July 18, 2019 #8 Posted July 18, 2019 Tramp is old idiot, he does not understand what cryptocurrency is, he still writes checks and walks with a checkbook . He need rest .
Steem Experts Posted July 18, 2019 #9 Posted July 18, 2019 But somehow controversy helps ini proomotion, and Trump is good medium for Bitcoin's promotion.
nattekut Posted July 18, 2019 #10 Posted July 18, 2019 nei like everything trump is saying ..... 'fake news'. It wouldn't surprise me he even holds a bunch of crypto himself and tries to manipulate the community sentiment by posting. Now he is president he can easily influence the crypto market by tweeting anti crypto tweets. But I do not think he will be able to start a war against crypto. He hardly manage to keep his staff together so why in earth would this idiot be able to start a war against anything
Enzo Posted July 18, 2019 #11 Posted July 18, 2019 I don't really think trump can do much besides a little dump in the price. But really just spreading a lot of FUD about crypto and misinforming a LOT of people. While he's right that it's used for drugs etc on parts of the web. That's definitely not all.
kiziah Posted July 18, 2019 #12 Posted July 18, 2019 Aww :< Why Mr.trump doesnt support cryptocurrency? It helps the market when in comes to investment, So many investors their attention to Crypto because its already contributed a big factor in market and also casino(that accepts crypto) But i think "War" doesnt fit here, I think "Trump dont like crypto in US." Hahahaha its my opinion tho Still this is great information but when trumps doesnt like it. The Anti-trump will like it so hahahaha basically crpyto-1 trump-0 Anti-trump will invest more and advertise crypto so they will try to pissed him off Hahahahaha. Hope crypto gets more attention
defrostbyte Posted July 18, 2019 #13 Posted July 18, 2019 I don't see this as starting a war. I see this as Trump talking down about something that he doesn't understand, as always. If the man truly understood what Bitcoin was and how it worked, he would be all over it. The man isn't good with investments, nor does he understand them. He went bankrupt while owning a Casino for fucks sake. If he wanted to start a war on cryptocurrency, he'd just throw the USA into a National Emergency and have a Government Shutdown again like he did when he was trying to get funding for his "Wall" to keep people from illegally entering the US. I really don't believe we have anything to worry about here personally.
barbaris Posted July 18, 2019 #14 Posted July 18, 2019 This is not very good news for Bitcoin. Perhaps because of these rumors and there is a drop in its value. Events in the United States affect the situation around the world and it can badly affect the crypto markets.
williamshennie9 Posted July 19, 2019 #15 Posted July 19, 2019 What I gathered from president Trump's tweet was that bitcoin is not stable enough to use as transactional currency. And that makes perfect sense. At the moment it is too volatile to use as fiat currency.

Rawci Posted July 20, 2019 #18 Posted July 20, 2019 Like anything about Trump I just ignore it and wait to see if anything happens. Doesn't sound like anything will
skrubreker Posted July 20, 2019 #19 Posted July 20, 2019 I don't realy think trump can do anything besides banning alot of sites that use bitcoin. And to be honest he said i doesn't like bitcoin that doesn't mean he will ban it it just means that he doesn't like it so don't worry nothing will happend.
Danifilth Posted July 20, 2019 #20 Posted July 20, 2019 Trump said that it is fashionable to easily crack and steal a crypt so I will reveal the secret, paper money can also be stolen, and it is even easier to make. They are also subject to physical damage, while the cryptocurrency is provided by millions of computers.
rajamishra Posted July 20, 2019 #21 Posted July 20, 2019 hello friends trump not control over the whole world, most of countries now try to implemented their own coin so its not so easy to destroyed the crypto world.i dont think so we are afraid for any damages occurred. if the governments understand the security system of cryptos then every one rushed to get in so soon.
syllableno Posted August 2, 2019 #22 Posted August 2, 2019 yet I thought that Donald Trump would be a crypto pro pioneer in the US. maybe Donald Trump is under pressure from parliament or for other reasons. I find that crypto does not endanger the American people
