Thepug Posted September 27, 2019 #1 Posted September 27, 2019 I saw the moderators talking to their chat and I realised that a few of them were platinum. When I clicked on their stats to see if everything was hidden, I was surprised to see that one of them, Shinjo, had everything displayed. (As shown in the picture below). Do you think that this should be allowed on the site? I can see why some people will think that it will be a lot more professional, just to hide everything on their profile and not display their stats. I know a couple of sites where it is forbidden for moderators to play there and everything is private in regards to themselves. Stake is different though and I do somewhat like how they can do this, but it can be unprofessional from a user's point of view, with them seeing a high profit and having the view then that the site "rigs" the odds for them. I personally know how everything on the site is provably fair and it is impossible for a bet to be rigged for someone. However, a new user to the site might not know this and think that because of a large profit, the site isn't trustworthy and they will be put off from playing here.
allisonn Posted September 27, 2019 #2 Posted September 27, 2019 At a glance it looks like he's roughly breaking even, what's wrong with that? Where is the large profit that I'm not seeing? Also if a site could rig rolls in the mods' favor, wouldn't they be able to modify the user stats as well?
Sped Posted September 27, 2019 #3 Posted September 27, 2019 Hello pug, I believe this is necessary. I think that for stake it shwos they have nothing to hide and the mods have no information about bet seeds, so why not let them bet. I think that it makes sense that they are able to bet and show their bet histories, it just builds to stakes credibility.
Moderator Flan Posted September 27, 2019 Moderator #4 Posted September 27, 2019 Mods also a user that just having higher authorities to evaluate and better chat conductor, nothing else that can we do with the site itself, such as being mention by @allisonn and @Sped. Also, as far as I play with many sites, I never seen any site that forbids moderator to play at their own site, except they are admins. Moreover, they are playing like crazy with their money, same like us! Fun Fact : with this blue M, actually, after promotion becoming a mod, I made negative profits real quick. And I believe all mods having the same of it. But, Shinjo is a smart player that having those green profits. All I got is red, red, and reds that you never expected. (Higher HE)
SLFJ Posted September 27, 2019 #5 Posted September 27, 2019 Moderators are people like us just with more powers to control the chat and with more responsibilities to enhance our players experiences so we enjoy the site more without rule breakers.
skywallkee Posted September 27, 2019 #6 Posted September 27, 2019 As far as I know, Moderators don't benefit from bonuses or things that can put Stake at their favor. I don't know which Admin said, but it was mentioned that Moderators are doing the job here voluntarily and they aren't getting paid for it (might be wrong, or things might've changed) so they aren't getting anything than the "power" and the ability to keep Stake a safe and nice place to play. It is not professional, I actually find it professional. Think of it like this, if you're an employee at Nike, is it unprofessional to buy Nikes? Not really. (you might say it's not the same thing here, but it actually is very similar)
wngo123 Posted September 27, 2019 #7 Posted September 27, 2019 I think moderators and staff should have their statistics visible to anyone. They should be walking representative of stake so they shouldn't hide anything about themselves. If they want to play private they can always do that on the alt, but if they decided to play on their account then it should be visible to everyone. But as Flansca said not mods are stake staff they are just regular users trusted by stake with mod rights.

(Higher HE) Thanks for responding to the post as you are a moderator and could give us more insight on the scenario. With reference to mods playing on the site, I don't want to say the site names but there are definitely a few that don't allow mods to gamble on the site, if the game mode is either a PVP, there is a jackpot system, users are rewarded on how much they wager and even on a site, mods aren't allowed to play in the races that they have. In a situation like races, I think it is so that users don't think that mods are playing with "sponsored" credits, meaning that it isn't actually their money and they are just using a "virtual" currency. With regards to races, I do see why this can happen. Someone can be annoyed if they miss out on a spot, because a moderator is above them and the person doesn't know if it is their money or a fake currency on the site. Personally, I wouldn't know how to handle a situation like this. It just depends if the site is trustworthy and it is clear that the moderator used their own money to gamble. I just wanted to make the post so that new users on the site can see that moderators can lose too. Also, so that they can trust the provably fair to be the same for every person, knowing no matter what authority someone has, it is the same for everyone.
maxtimrussia Posted September 27, 2019 #9 Posted September 27, 2019 well, the result is better than my
SovietDoggo Posted September 28, 2019 #10 Posted September 28, 2019 I think it adds to the site transparency and shows that the mods are regular users of the site just like everyone else, so I do not have a problem with it as they don't have any special access.
sheenazbay Posted September 28, 2019 #11 Posted September 28, 2019 in my opinion someone's game will not have an effect just because of the moderator's statistics, even if a new user sees the statistics. I think new users will not focus on someone's statistics, they will only focus on making a wager and can join the chat
