williamshennie9 Posted December 15, 2019 #1 Posted December 15, 2019 Hey everyone I was wondering why the Stake developers removed the red M from the chatroom. I noticed that the red B for Banned is still visible, but the muted symbol has been removed. What do you guys think about this? I would love to hear what all of you think. Personally, I prefer the muted symbol visible, so that I know if a user can chat or not.
Hoffguy Posted December 15, 2019 #2 Posted December 15, 2019 Yes I miss this too, when some friends get muted you could see them in your friends list and then it even would say duration, but now it's not clear, so I think that is a shame!
Omerfrom02 Posted December 15, 2019 #3 Posted December 15, 2019 Same, missing this feature and would love to see it back on Stake. If you message a friend and he’s muted and you are messaging him so much but he’s not replying you, you will think something happened and mean he is ignoring you etc etc many things can happen..
nuuuitsjdragon Posted December 15, 2019 #4 Posted December 15, 2019 More importantly so, the reason for misdeeds etc. should definitely be listed when you click on the 'muted' player's username. I am thinking that if we don't show the red 'M', their very mistakes are somewhat excused - making for a very irresponsible player who will then think he can do whatever he wants.
Thepug Posted December 15, 2019 #5 Posted December 15, 2019 Personally, it doesn’t bother me if someone is muted in the chat and it should be their choice if they want to make it public. Yes, we all make mistakes and some people might learn from them. If they learn from this mistake, having a big M on their profile is only de motivational, humiliating and they might move away from Stake because of it. 2 hours ago, williamshennie9 said: Hey everyone I was wondering why the Stake developers removed the red M from the chatroom. I haven’t seen you for a while and I’m hoping that you can help me in making the forum active again. Recently, there haven’t been many new topics and I have been trying to brainstorm, to think of new ones Now, lets get on to the topic Like you said, the developers are the ones that removed this. Perhaps, it was causing lag or it was increasing the risk of these players quitting stake, you’ll never truly know unless you tell you. I have already said why I think they removed it on this post, so check it out and tell me what you think about it
Ali saher Posted December 16, 2019 #6 Posted December 16, 2019 I think this is good if others not know who is mute or not I don't want I know who is mute and how much time other thing I don't use chat so much and I not make friends
Etude Posted December 16, 2019 #7 Posted December 16, 2019 I would agree on this that the Muted icon should be once again displayed for public view in chat because without it can actually causes confusion as to whether a person is able to reply or not through messaging even, also typically a person who is permed muted does not really have the privilege of "saving face", to get perm muted means having done a serious offense so it should actually serve as a warning to others.
Seoulmate Posted December 16, 2019 #8 Posted December 16, 2019 The Problem with the Red M is kind of Obvious, muted players were passing themselves off as Mods to noobs. Its easy to see how a noob could be fooled and possibly scammed by a muted Player. Whats required is an alternative icon such as🤬🔇🤐 or Simply the word "Muted" in front of the players user name.
sheenazbay Posted December 17, 2019 #9 Posted December 17, 2019 I have never cared about people who are muted. I never even knew that the red M was removed. I just focus on my game, never paying too much attention to people who get mute or get red M

How is it possible? Muted players can't speak in chat or pm 🤐 Or is it when a player doesn't refresh when they get off mute and still have sign or some other way 😕
BidaManEris Posted December 17, 2019 #11 Posted December 17, 2019 I agree. This will give users a clue whether their friends just already left for good, away for good or have committed an offense that's something serious especially if their only connections rely just on Stake/PD most of the time. I will also agree with Etude. It isn't public shaming- it is a way of showing people that supports are true and strict about rule implementations and such mute displays should be a testament of it.
defrostbyte Posted December 18, 2019 #12 Posted December 18, 2019 I'm finding myself frustrated with a lot of the changes happening recently. Moving around the menus, removing the time stamps on messages, no more red M, and some other minor things... it's just inconvenient (for myself anyway).
wngo123 Posted December 18, 2019 #13 Posted December 18, 2019 Yes that would be great, but maybe they removed it because some people thought that letter M stands for "Moderator"? LOL But there are many other ways to give a hint that user is muted it could just say "muted"
Ayesha0770 Posted December 18, 2019 #14 Posted December 18, 2019 I can only see blue M for mod. So there was a red M if that person is muted before? Ithink having red M if pretty reliable, we can view if one person is muted or not
dkpiiit953 Posted December 18, 2019 #15 Posted December 18, 2019 Hello, For me it does not matter, in fact everyone can do it BAN without having made a big mistake, I think it can happen, I am serious and yet I have already been ban perm but it is very frowned upon with other players, so I think it's good to leave only the BAN visible for life I totally agree. Good luck and good evening everyone.
