Moderator maverick528 Posted January 24, 2020 Moderator #1 Posted January 24, 2020 There have been attempts by a malicious website to phish (get without your consent) the usernames and passwords of Stake forum users. They even built a copy of the Stake forum so that if you are not careful you may think you are inside the real one, but you are not. So please pay attention to this as its VERY IMPORTANT. Every time that you are in the login page of Stake forum, where you enter your username and password, YOU MUST VERIFY BY LOOKING AT THE ADDRESS BAR OF YOUR BROWSER THAT YOU ARE IN THE REAL STAKE FORUM. Thank you!!!!
ThomasTV2 Posted January 24, 2020 #2 Posted January 24, 2020 this is common sense. Sad to see that people are falling for this. Some general tips for the web: Always verify the URL Never login anywhere that you dont trust. If you cant be sure that its the real stake forum, go to stake.com and click forum. Also, I think if you come across the a fake stake forum, you should report it to the hosting provider or the domain registrar. DM me if you want to know how Stay safe everyone!
cryptofly Posted January 24, 2020 #3 Posted January 24, 2020 Thanks Maverick, this is valuable info, and yes, as ThomasTV2 just said it is a "common sense" but sometimes, in the rush of the day, we just forgot to check it. I do never change laptop when gambling and when I am here in Forum, always same equipment, same IP....same table and chair.... better keep that way. Good luck and thanks again.
Seoulmate Posted January 24, 2020 #4 Posted January 24, 2020 are the topics better in the fake forum?
Dp10011 Posted January 25, 2020 #5 Posted January 25, 2020 The most amazing thing is that the link was posted here. They posted one in my post, but a moderator deleted it quickly. The other was still on someone's post out there for a while.
Nicol3 Posted January 25, 2020 #6 Posted January 25, 2020 One of my posts recently was also one of the threads where @sarah.DF who is already banned after I reported it to Support Team. What happened was Sarah said that someone copied the original poem I wrote for Stake. Then he put the link below her comment and whats amazing was the url was forum.stake.com. It was only when I hover the cursor to the link that it showed the real url you are gonna be redirected if you click it. LoL and it was different. Although honestly I was stupid to click it still haha and I ended up seeing "play4win" copied my poem but I know in just a matter of seconds I was being tricked. So I changed my password immediately because after clicking the link, my Telegram account is being accessed, my Stake account was being targeted as well for sme reasons. Honestly, I have been careless Lol but good thing I am alert so no security risk at all. Be careful Stakers! Keep winning! Cheers! 😁
irfan123123 Posted January 25, 2020 #7 Posted January 25, 2020 Oh very informative posts for new members of stake forums every one must take care about fake site of stake forum these are scammers and want to steal information of investors.
Ali saher Posted January 25, 2020 #8 Posted January 25, 2020 Thanks for inform this important information I real don't watch this before I just open stake forum to casino link always this is very helpful if you share this information on forum
Lymieng Posted January 26, 2020 #9 Posted January 26, 2020 I was a victim of this. I hate how stupid I am. The post I click was like this. Look someone just copy you forum post. *link here* the link looks exactly like skakes' forum. I clicked the link ans was redirected to a page that has my copied forum post but I cannot report it. A week later, my account was banned and the reason was because I am posting malicious link which I didn't do. I usually click the link of the forum at the bottom of the casino's page. So I was really surprised that my account was compromised. So I realized that maybe it was the link i clicked. guys be careful.
cryptonesiac Posted January 27, 2020 #10 Posted January 27, 2020 Cheers to the moderators! To everyone: use a password manager with strong passwords (different one on every site). If the password manager does not give you the option to login with the credentials in the manager, there's something strange with the site...
seanwattson Posted January 28, 2020 #11 Posted January 28, 2020 I am to in not a fan of this. When I 1st joined steak I was to scams in to giving some bit coin to someone acting like a moderator. I did not know but really was going on and it up giving this guy some big coin for nothing. He everyone's and vice as you not give you eager info away and treat every person on the Internet as if you don't know them because you don't!

sheenazbay Posted February 3, 2020 #13 Posted February 3, 2020 this is important information. luckily the stake is on my bookmark, so I don't do a stake search via google, just press my bookmark, so I won't go to the fake stake, by the way, thanks for the info

They were erased very quickly but some ppl had troubles anyway. So it doesnt matter if you have forum bookmarked , you can still be taken to the fake website in a moment of distraction. Again, its very important that everytime you enter the username and password, just verify the website address.
Jelanstream Posted February 3, 2020 #15 Posted February 3, 2020 Thanks for sharing it Mave, I think most of people here on forum his/her account is already saved on the browser they no need to login again like me all of my account was already saved even the other gambling site's a forum sites.
CrispyKamote Posted February 5, 2020 #16 Posted February 5, 2020 I hope no one falls for this scam. Thanks for the heads up.

I fell for something similar recently with an email I received regarding an account I have. Usually I'm pretty savvy to phishing and can see it a mile away, but I was in a hurry, and didn't take the time to check. Clickable links are easy, and sometimes....we are lazy enough to use them.
chrisconn63 Posted February 5, 2020 #19 Posted February 5, 2020 thanks for this post. very glad to see you care or something near that maverick. will be sure to check that every time i log into stake!
bmg Posted February 5, 2020 #20 Posted February 5, 2020 Thanks for the info . I went to log into Stake and it took me to Stake.au .com. So sad how many scammers are out in the world.
evet Posted February 6, 2020 #21 Posted February 6, 2020 Never had experienced being redirected to a stake forum site copy. Might as well tell my friends about it. Thanks for the info.
Lovenas99 Posted February 6, 2020 #22 Posted February 6, 2020 This is real as I saw one myself but on a different website where I buy crypto’s. The point is, as much as this is real, it still takes a little bit of effort for you to realize you mistake and avoids visiting such sites. I know many may fall victim to this. But I doubt if you don’t want to you will.
shasam84 Posted February 12, 2020 #23 Posted February 12, 2020 Thanks for the info. Will have to be careful in future . Slight mistake and there is a chance of being scammed.
Kariuki Posted February 12, 2020 #25 Posted February 12, 2020 So every website that has that kind of a program where you get paid to which one can gain something, there are scammers always sniffing around trying to get your password and this is why its important that everyone should be very careful, there was also an attempt on my forum profile but am not as galible as they may think , I was able to avoid and the account is safe now.
