Ymerej Posted December 12, 2017 #1 Posted December 12, 2017 EBay, one of the world’s largest e-commerce platforms, is considering making the leap into cryptocurrency payments, according to a high-ranking company executive. EBay ‘Seriously Considering’ Adding Bitcoin Payments Scott Cutler, senior vice president of eBay Americas, told Yahoo Finance that the e-commerce giant is holding serious discussions about becoming the highest-profile company to accept cryptocurrency payments. Although it does not appear that eBay currently has any concrete plans to adopt cryptocurrency payments, the fact that the company is holding high-level discussions on the matter is the latest testament to how quickly bitcoin has permeated the mainstream. I found this article from this source: https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/ebay-seriously-considering-adding-bitcoin-payments/ -- Josiah Wilmoth on 12/12/2017 - But Bitcoin network fees are getting outrageous. If I want to buy $10 of something, it will cost me $26 to send for the Bitcoin network fee alone ??? Another wallet charges $4 to send but $11 to receive. I dont realy believe this will be a good idea for if the network transaction/fee is too high

Not sure where they will go with this but let's see. Yah, I think this will be a bad idea for them ... eBay was successful without using bitcoin in the past years .. yah but lets see if this will happen to them if they will consider using btc

Geimond Posted December 13, 2017 #4 Posted December 13, 2017 i think they are thinking again about the idea after the bitcoin price went very high
Geimond Posted December 13, 2017 #5 Posted December 13, 2017 13 minutes ago, dreramon said: YEah they might be thinking to do that but that wasnt their main concern when they dropped the idea a few years back. yeah they just wanted people to have easier way to buy, but they abandoned the idea cus it wasn't so famous and less people were using it, but cus of the price it got way more famous, and more people use it now so they are thinking about the idea again
Snike Posted December 13, 2017 #6 Posted December 13, 2017 another big step for bitcoin development to a "real" currency
Kargai Posted December 13, 2017 #7 Posted December 13, 2017 It will be a rising trend in 2018, classic retailers accepting cryptos (not only BTC). Amazon & Ebay will be probably in the first one to implement it but others will follow with BTC becoming more and more mainstream. BTC will be (at least) really usable for people. Could alos be bad for it if they don't deal with the cloaged transactions and fees.
neoooo Posted December 13, 2017 #8 Posted December 13, 2017 This is a good news , a step which can change our life.
barbaris Posted December 13, 2017 #9 Posted December 13, 2017 In my opinion, this is not a bad idea, it will give additional financial flows.
skywallkee Posted December 13, 2017 #10 Posted December 13, 2017 It's not a new thing that they will try to implement BTC. It is being said for a while that they are going to try it, but it didn't actually happen. It will for sure at a certain point, but I guess that they will wait for BTC to find it's "final price" or a price with a smaller dynamic because the prices would need to be updated every hour when the BTC raises/decreases. I guess that this is going to be the main issue about introducing BTC to buy something on Amazon or eBay.
