Kariuki Posted April 14, 2020 #1 Posted April 14, 2020 I read a story somewhere that treasure hunting for bitcoin is far much profitable that bitcoin mining, that got me asking, how many bitcoins are missing, because for example, when it all started, I saw this site that was paying huge satoshis , then I joined it, and I started using it, I collected about 2 bitcoins, but I dint know what are bitcoins so I threw it away and decided it was time to do something else, now I dont remember the email I dont remember the passwords and I dont know how to trace the two, so how many other bitcoins could be missing out there, there are so many people out there who really are not sure that the number of bitcoins in circulation is the same as the number of bits that were mined, and so , remember the guy who lost the wallet and address with about a million bits, am not so sure a bout a million bitcoins, but the last I heard he was still looking for the hard ware that had the bitcoins, How many bitcoins are missing? Thats my question today, thank you and stay safe, stay at home. God bless you.
BidaManEris Posted April 14, 2020 #2 Posted April 14, 2020 Sources from the internet and several studies said that we are missing about 4 million BTC since its creation. Treasure hunting BTC wallets are not profitable and is nigh-impossible to pull up if you can't pull up private keys to retrieve the bitcoins inside it; trying to find one is just basically almost useless, even if you have a computing machine that will match current BTC mining devices to date for decryption.
Sunskid01 Posted April 14, 2020 #3 Posted April 14, 2020 Hello guys, As of this 2020 there are over 18 million Bitcoin in existence but not all of them are usable because some are stolen and over 2 to 3 million are lost but there is no exact answer to it now.
Ali saher Posted April 14, 2020 #4 Posted April 14, 2020 Yes this happen with me when I start using crypto currency o create so many account on defrent sites some free earning site and some investment sites.then few months I buzy in my work and I not use these sites and forgot so many account where my coins store.
JacksonPalmer Posted April 14, 2020 #5 Posted April 14, 2020 this article says there are around 4 million more or less proveable missing: https://blockgeeks.com/how-many-bitcoins-are-there/ I would set it way higher though, especially with the fact that "satoshi nakamoto" still holds 1 million BTC which will probably never be used and the fact that there are just so many coins lost in failed hardware or people forgetting their passwords etc.
Hassan2121 Posted April 15, 2020 #6 Posted April 15, 2020 According to some experts, there are no exact answer to how many bitcoin have missed, however some estimated about 3-4 million bitcoin are gone forever
Wassouf Posted April 16, 2020 #7 Posted April 16, 2020 There are millions of Bitcoin lost in old accounts and wallets, it would be nice to own some of them, but unfortunately this is impossible, there is no way to extract them.
