Why do people gamble?

I have never understood why people gamble even till today, why would I put up my hard earned money to get some  money that am not sure of, say I have 1$ and am not sure if I give you it, I will get the two you are promising me, so this are some of the reason I found were for gambling.

1. The thrill, so thats why you just feel its fun

2. it can be a social event, there are so many people who meet at casinos , not necessarily to gamble but just to meet.

3. Its addictive, you start and you have to be very disciplined to leave.

4. The hard one to imagine,is that people actually make money from it.

This are the reasons that I have found to be the reason why people gamble, what would be your reason, thank you and have a beautiful night.

I usually gamble whenever I feel like it, but I often go overboard and gamble what I can't afford to lose. The thrill always gets me and I just can't control myself lol

I think people play gambling because they want win some money. Gambling is a fun if you play carefully and you afford lost some money because mostly people lose money in gambling.

People gamble because...

1. (unlikely) ...they want to have fun and feel the adrenaline rush;

2. (less common) ...they are bored and just want to kill time and try their luck (with low bankroll);

3. (more common, dangerous) ...they want to pay their bills, buy a new phone, be a millionaire;

4. (most common, needs professional help) ...they are chasing their losses.

I gamble because I want to get profit and the rest I totally agree with what you mentioned, by gambling can chat with each other in chat rooms and can get to know each other and also by discussing in forums.

Because like drugs and alcohol, it gives an elevated sense of excitement and fun (with ignorance of risks). Adrenaline and endorphin increases a lot whenever one wins big which results to a very pleasurable feeling and uneasiness of "wanting to go for more".
