iamback1992 Posted January 12, 2022 #1 Posted January 12, 2022 ** This is not a spiritual guide to beating the house ** Some if not all of you gamblers have experienced the feeling of being completely emerged in betting. Everything around you blurs out and all there is is you and the screen in front of you. That is a state of unconsciousness. The dopamine hungry brain has taken over and you are riding the high. This unconscious state is dominated by greed & desperation. Most times.. it's in this state... gamblers make "bad" choices. Such as ** Going all in ** Depositing money that you can't afford to lose ** Chasing losses( Depo more). Every time you find yourself in this state immediately get away from the screen( whether you were winning or losing) and focus on the present moment for about 10 min. You may focus on your breathing or do any other activity but do it with ALL of your attention. Let it be a super boring activity such as just sitting in your chair or washing dishes. Whatever you do DO NOT think about gambling. It is very crucial that you spend that 10 min doing no thinking whatsoever Come back to stake and you may find yourself gambling from a different perspective . Calmer, relaxed and clear minded.
mementomori Posted January 12, 2022 #2 Posted January 12, 2022 Thank you. I needed to see this yesterday but thank you anyways. Will try to do that in the future.

MilosN Posted January 23, 2022 #7 Posted January 23, 2022 Great advice. It's important to stay level headed when playing these games and not to lose focus. Self control is extremely important.
iulianbutanu Posted January 23, 2022 #8 Posted January 23, 2022 Great man, srsly, this wont help when you are addicted but great lessons. I would love to see stake finally doing smth about gambling awarness or easier ways to add limits to the acc
PeterAnders22 Posted January 25, 2022 #9 Posted January 25, 2022 I've found myself slipping away far too many times in the past. I tilted easily when playing poker, bet way more than I should have done with sports bets, and played casino games long after I promised I would call it a day. I tried for like 6 years to kick the habit, and managed to finally turn it around when I checked my total losses, added them up, and realized I could literally have a house now (well, a deposit) if I had been more sensible. These days, I limit myself to tiny amounts and challenge myself to turn them into big sums. I don't lose much and I still have fun.
prats123 Posted January 28, 2022 #11 Posted January 28, 2022 Nice Advice to keep things in Control... Thanks Bro
Rosey1331 Posted January 28, 2022 #12 Posted January 28, 2022 Yes, it does happen at times. Sometimes we get so engrossed in our games that we become oblivious about everything around us.
SEXY211 Posted February 11, 2022 #13 Posted February 11, 2022 Of course, you don't wanna loose your bankroll. so go low and if you see a steady trend go for it. or hold until there is one. Little by little you can make a fortune right here at stake, but you gotta play it safe and save for the rainy days. Always find time for yourself and family, don't get addicted or drown yourself when its a loosing battle. If you're in a loosing streak, sit it out, take a walk, have dinner, a drink maybe and come back later when you are all refreshed. And eventually your chi will come back. and you won't drain yourself or your bankroll and not be worried about it
direct3r Posted February 11, 2022 #14 Posted February 11, 2022 simple rules: -set yourself limits for the day/week/whatever. -don't play with money you don't have (e.g. credit/leverage/etc) -if you don't enjoy it anymore, just don't do it -martingale/chasing looses will bankrupt you anytime soon, it's just the question of when
