eldrindcm Posted March 2, 2018 #1 Posted March 2, 2018 Last July 2017, a hacker compromised CoinDash ICO and changed the deposit address shown on CoinDash website. According to reports, over 40,000 ETH was stolen from the incident. But last September 2017, the hacker returned 10,000 ETH to one of CoinDash's ETH address. And just last February 23, CoinDash announced that another 20,000 ETH were sent from the Hacker address back to CoinDash's account. Despite of the incident, CoinDash also noted in their blog that "this incident will not jeopardize the company’s plan and commitment to our community." The hacker still got 13,000 ETH ($11,000,000) as shown in this wallet. You can also see in the wallet that it has over 2,138 transactions where 2,135 of it were transfers from the ICO investors, one is a transfer to the hacker's other(?) address, and the remaining two transactions are the 20,000 and 10,000 ETH returned to CoinDash. Why do you think the hacker returned most of what he/she had stolen? Conscience? Ghost are already hunting him?
Cath2x Posted March 2, 2018 #3 Posted March 2, 2018 Not really that bad hacker he is. He still has goid thing in mind.
Mazda3 Posted March 2, 2018 #4 Posted March 2, 2018 these hackers are already so cunning that no protection will help us ((if they want to hack - they will crack without problems
hux Posted March 2, 2018 #5 Posted March 2, 2018 if i did this i wouldnt be able to live with myself, imagine having to live with the fact that you stole $11 million, possibly ruining some peoples lifes. smh
ravenyvolle2 Posted March 2, 2018 #6 Posted March 2, 2018 Maybe he already gained from the coins he hacked and decided to bring it all back. But still, a good and bold move from a hacker. He still has the heart to return the coins he stole.
