amarito75 Posted January 11, 2023 #1 Posted January 11, 2023 Hi, Newbie here (but been gambling for some time), I'm positively impressed by the number of races and contests on Stake. But I've been playing here for less than a month, didn't hit anything spectacular, tried to participate in a couple of promotions (that I messed up miserably) and was wondering if long time players here enjoyed the "multiplier races" ? I understand "wagering races" but what is the point of a multiplier race? If you hit a massive multiplier you should be already happy, another few hundreds bucks added for a super low probability event won't change fundamentally your expected profits from this activity. For instance I like changing slots, what would be the added value to spend all my gambling time on the same slot? If I hit a x500 or even an x800 after many hours (which is optimistic imho) I think I would still be behind a dozen of players who hit higher multipliers and my reward will be too small to be noticeable. TLDR: players who do "multiplier races", is it for the sake of the personal challenge or is there really some positive EV from doing it?
Rαbαn Posted January 11, 2023 #3 Posted January 11, 2023 i have not seen a 500x or more multi in 1 year daily gambling on this site. The race is just to motivate you to lose more money

The race is just to motivate you to lose more money Thanks for the answers. That's what I was suspecting, there isn't much to gain from participating in races. I play also poker and there are all kind of races too (on cashgames, sitngos spingos etc) if I happen to play a lot, you usually can extract a little extra bonus but there is less choice in poker, you usually like to play the same type of games so it's not too bothering to stick to one format all day long. Slots are incredibly fickle, how can you stick to the same machine if it keeps eating your money for +500spins without a bonus and when it finally hits it's a x15 lol. Absolutely maddening but maybe it's just me and some gamblers like to stick to the same machine until it gives back a lot...

Rekan329 Posted January 11, 2023 #9 Posted January 11, 2023 I never win and I don't expect to win either, I just gamble with another goal

How much did you win with the race ?

BobbyB Posted January 12, 2023 #18 Posted January 12, 2023 It is hard to win against the highroller i think .. i dont have win a race ..
Jeebus Posted January 13, 2023 #19 Posted January 13, 2023 Only top 10 get prizes above $1000, and they are wagering in millions. The other day i wagered 265k and got $10, ridiculous. So there is absolutely zero chance that a regular player will ever win even $50 from these races. Retarded thing is though, that these highrollers who are wagering 20mil per day don't give a rat's ass for these race prizes. To them it's pocket money. But that's always the point - they give $1000 to someone who doesn't care about it, so he'll spend it in a second on one plinko ball. Same as the rest of us who win $1-2, we'll do the same, because "what can you do with 1 dollar". They end up getting good marketing exposure for almost 0 cost. To me races were never motivation to play more.
Zamia2001 Posted January 13, 2023 #20 Posted January 13, 2023 never aim to win on races..races are for those with huge money.
