eldrindcm Posted March 30, 2018 #1 Posted March 30, 2018 While watching "Designated Survivor", a Netflix series, I was surprised that "Bitcoin" has been mentioned. A little bit of the Designated Survivor: The United States Capitol was bombed and killed every person inside it, including the POTUS. *fast forward* The mastermind behind the bombing bought computers via Bitcoin.. In this part of the show, it shows that transacting with Bitcoin is peer-to-peer and that can be anonymous. I think, showing Bitcoin on TV shows/movies is a big step in making Bitcoin mainstream. It can be a great way to introduce cryptocurrency. What do you think, will it be effective? Have you also seen other shows or movies where Bitcoin or cryptocurrency has been featured?

Every mention on a movie or TV Show will bring a little awareness about cryptos, even if only 1 person go online to look after what they were speaking about. So it's still great I guess, depending on how they present it.

There was also a hospital show that I can't think of the name, where these criminals shuts down all the computers in the hospital until the hospital paid them so many bitcoins. Oh and then there's a surprisingly good movie called DOPE, I did not expect it to be so good and even had bitcoin as a big part of the story. Good movie.

Thank you! haha it's still early here for me, I don't like shows like these but this episode had my attention, I thought it was pretty good. You should definitely see the movie Dope if you haven't already, I watched it with a negative opinion from the start not knowing much about it, and was amazed at how quickly it became on of my favorite movies plus bitcoins!!!
