Because of this incident happening, almost all ignorant people in the Philippines now are considering bitcoin as scam xD lol. I pity them for not knowing the exact truth of what is really a scam.

Very funny @Kargai!  But seriously, good to see the bad guys pay the price.  Just goes to show that bitcoin is not a magic bullet for scammers.  Though that is a shame @skillex that people can't separate crime from the medium.

Yeah, coz big politcian and even newscaster in Philippines consider Bitcoin as scam xD . So ignorant that even a hyip company will get caught because of using bitcoin they always consider bitocin as really the scam. Hoping it will not lead to banning xD

Some people actually think bitcoin is scam. Those people who thought about it were actually scammed by other people who says that they are doing “bitcoin investments”, gathering their money and probably do trading until btc went down and things went wrong or run with their money.

So the news that was spread to other people just believe “okay btc is scam”

Exactly :( Sad to say that it is happening and ignorant people are assuming bitcoins are scam already without even searching or googling it.

This was our topic in class a while ago, and I love my prof for defending Bitcoin. "I'm clearly stating that Bitcoin isn't a scam", she's proud and very sure as she is also a Bitcoin miner. The main problem here in the Philippines is that people, especially Facebook users, don't bother to research or read what's with the thing they're trying to be part of. They assumed that Bitcoin is ez money, that they easily believe in such ponzi schemes.

Wow nice to hear that your prof also used it. Lol. My prof thinks its scam. Rofl.

Sometimes it is already in their mind that everything on the internet is scam. They hear it and just assume it’s scam.
