Sorry to hear about your issues. However I'm not that addicted to seek help rn. I get that prevention is better than cure but yeah Iv actually significantly reduced playing. I barely spend 50$ weekly now. But I agree accepting the fact that the money is gone is the best thing to do. Ok, I'm glad to hear you're not in a desperate situation at least. I'll say this for anybody else who's reading, but hope you read it, too - addiction is very rarely about the thing we get fucked up on, but is a vehicle or means to escape unwelcome emotions, even if it's deep down in our subconscious and not something that we can pinpoint. So, if you can avoid it, it's great, but some introspection to try to figure out what it is inside you that makes you susceptible to addiction is a good thing and life should be better all round. An example is US troops using heroin during the Vietnam war. A lot of them continued when they came back, of course, because of PTSD, injuries, etc, but a lot just quit overnight. They were out of the situation that had made them want to use it and they were in a different mindspace with different priorities when they went home. The reasons why most of us get an addiction aren't usually as stark as being in a warzone or not, but we need to find a way to stop that conflict within ourselves. Rant over, thank you 👋
