Baccarat is a comparing card game played between two hands, the "player" and the "banker". Each baccarat coup (round of play) has three possible outcomes: "player" (player has the higher score), "banker", and "tie".

In baccarat, cards have a point value:

  • cards two through nine are worth face value (in points);
  • tens, jacks, queens and kings have no point value (i.e. are worth zero);
  • aces are worth 1 point;
  • jokers are not used.

Hands are valued according to the rightmost digit of the sum of their constituent cards. For example, a hand consisting of 2 and 3 is worth 5, but a hand consisting of 6 and 7 is worth 3 (i.e., the 3 being the rightmost digit in the combined points total of 13).The highest possible hand value in baccarat is therefore nine.

Hope this helps a little at least. Good luck !

Thanks for the useful information however the game still makes no sense, so K Q J have no value at all ? So why are they even used, just for show ?

Its not that I don't understand it, I do, but the rules are weird... :D

Its not that the K Q J has no value.. They are count as 10 as I know. So, lets say your opponent has 4 + 5 = 9 and your card was 10 + 9 = 19 is counted as 9 only. meaning both of you were draw.

Oh fair enough but technically 10 is no value as only the right most value is used according the OP. I understand.

Almost.. but since it is base on a card game they still going to include them. Maybe because the count of the total cards and how many deals they will do on each shuffle I assumed. :D
