I thought this game was pretty dumb when I first played it since I didn't understand it at all. However, after playing it for a bit I can see why people enjoy playing it. I just wish there was a little skill involved instead of just hoping you win xD

Baccarat is a comparing card game played between two hands, the "player" and the "banker". Each baccarat coup (round of play) has three possible outcomes: "player" (player has the higher score), "banker", and "tie".

In baccarat, cards have a point value:

  • cards two through nine are worth face value (in points);
  • tens, jacks, queens and kings have no point value (i.e. are worth zero);
  • aces are worth 1 point;
  • jokers are not used.

Hands are valued according to the rightmost digit of the sum of their constituent cards. For example, a hand consisting of 2 and 3 is worth 5, but a hand consisting of 6 and 7 is worth 3 (i.e., the 3 being the rightmost digit in the combined points total of 13).The highest possible hand value in baccarat is therefore nine.

There are automatic rules for this, but you can not do anything to change the outcome.

If you want I can post here the rules when more cards are dealt, depending on the points the banker has, and the points you have, but it´s just not worth learning them.

So you actually can not influence in the final result, like you can do in blackjack.

You uncover the cards manually to see them, but you have no choice.

You can think that in the end baccarat is a game where two dices are rolled, one for the player and one for the banker, so both end with numbers that go from 0 to 9.

The highest number wins. And there also can be a tie if the numbers are the same.
