Nice topic.

These come to mind:

Rip - when someone bet a large amount and lost it, usually quite fast

Bust - very commonly used when there is no balance left

Depo - when someone makes a new deposit in stake

Rain - when someone wants to receive a tip, usually they ask for rain

Rh - roll hunt, a game initiated usually by mods, in which all players play a specific game trying to hit a specific number or requirement

There is a comical thing that happens when people congregate in any social setting. They usually will develop a dialect of their shared language and it changes over time, sometimes so much so that it becomes hard for outsiders to understand.

Stake Players - and all bitcoin / crypto gamblers have a unique vocabulary.

What words or phrases do you consider "Stake-isms" in gambling online?

For example - Badger (and allegedly Chief) created "Grrr"  to signify a bad luck streak - and the term made its way into the habits of all of us.

So the first stake-isms that came to mind are here:

  • Grrr - origins are rooted elsewhere but it has migrated here.
  • Rish - somehow this replaced the word rich.
  • Halp - instead of help. I think this one sort of pokes fun at a particular type of begging, and it is seen daily, most often as a joke.

Name a few words or phrases that are from your online gamblers journey.

Bumping this one back to life.. i think it is worthy.

I also notice that instead of people say hey or hi. Others just put tge emoji like “ o/ “ does this count? :D

I see many people recently will said sup instead of hi

Maybe the common language in here used was "Good luck or Sad day"

I would love if all the passive words like "sad day" become like !bonzo and instantly mute whoever says it tbh, it gets aggravating when it appears in chat not 1-5 times but 10-50 times.

Also, WD for withdraw, recently some people have used it to say "well done".

I laughed so bad at a few of these ones 😂 but out of all rish bish or stake sharks are my favourite and will always go down on the floor laughing when reading them. Stake has pretty many "Stake-isms" already and it is pretty nice that the community got so far.
