Moderator maverick528 Posted August 8, 2020 Moderator #234 Posted August 8, 2020 I recently read "For God, country and CocaCola", its the history of that famous soft drink and the ppl behind it. Its not the usual subject that I read, but I found very interesting to know all the dark secrets and illegalities behind this history, how the "secret" formula changed hands several times, the truth about the drink having coca leaves extract even today, etc....... Even the suspicious dead of the son of the drink creator, or the fact that one day two guys asked for and obtained an exclusive contract for bottling CocaCola, and the contract didnt had an end date, but the most important thing, they got it for FREE because at that time nobody believed bottling the soft drink would be important in the future....

I read about their President) I wonder if you managed to understand the logic of his power? This is a rhetorical question. P.S. "Small earth" is also worth reading Hello everyone, hello Kargai! I am very glad that there are still people who like to read books. Modern youth are more interested in films and TV shows. Of course, it is much easier to watch "Crime and Punishment" or "War and Peace" than to read them I think during school years many people were horrified by the book "Anna Karenina". Yes, then it was too early for us to read it. I grew up to such literature much later. But today I can confidently call the works of such authors as Bulgakov, Tolstoy, Dostoevsky great. I adore Yesenin, I kneel before the great Pushkin. However, I cannot deny myself the pleasure of closely following the work of Stephen King. Although his last works, in my opinion, have become much worse. The style of writing has changed, somewhat different directions have been chosen. I was not at all impressed by the novel "The Dark Tower", but "Mist", "Under the Dome" gave a lot of vivid emotions You can talk about books for a very long time and a lot. After all, hundreds of talented individuals have spent many years to leave us their work. I believe that every book deserves attention and at some point finds its reader.
