Fantasy Trader, do you miss it too?

I just remembered fantasy trader when Steve opened a giveaway about guess the price of btc.

Well for anyone who didn’t get to know about fantasy trader, it was a monthly guessing of which coin will be profitable every month. We can pick any top 50 coins/tokens in which a $100,000 (not real money ofc) amount shall be put for portion for our chosen tokens. Then at the end of the month it will be calculated for who among have the highest profit.

For me, that giveaway made me realize on how to observe the cryptomarket and which among of those tokens can really be profitable, in that way you can apply it when you are investing/trading in cryptos.

Hope we can have it back though, even just a mini ones atleast.  :D

I don't miss it. So many complaints about payments taking forever to go out, such high maintenance. Issues always regarding correct price values and cut of times. It was a nightmare from a management perspective and we never had new players joining to play it, despite significant marketing efforts.

Yeah, the calculations before took long, good thing we have a good community that helped out. And the fantasy trader went out early when the community isn’t that big.

Although I like the fact that Steve made something like price guessing. It’s fun!

i miss it . It was so much fun to see who was in the top of the running. it also helped players see what was going on with crypto currency . Dan didnt like it so much but i wish someone would bring it back .

I have joined only once and I figured out that it wasn't for me. The last time I have played was like exactly a year ago I guess, on the November Fantasy Trader. I didn't fully understand what was going on really, but I joined it and saw that I didn't really like it.

I guess that it is more for the trading people here, or for the ones who are more interested in alts price than me.

The big prize pool amount is probably one of the main factors that Fantasy Trader was attractive. The new formats of task based giveaways by Steve currently is pretty good actually. :)

I really miss it!! I know the payments took long, and it was probably a lot of work for the Stake staff, but it was so fun :)

It also taught me to research coins in more detail, and understand how the markets work. I hope some day it makes a comeback :)

I do miss it and I want it back I never could participate in one sadly but I also feel bad like Dan said they had to go through it very very hardly and it was very hectic for them

I've been super bad at it so I dont really miss it. But I think stake had to much work with it, it taking ages to reward and to get all the entries and stuff.

But stake now has way more other challenges so I dont feel like its bad, they removed it :)

This sounds awesome. Could you imagine a game like this?

It would be pvpvs. They would need to reduce the amount of SATs won compared to the amount in the game I think, but a fantasy exchange would be a lot of fun!

The same people joined it every month which was consistent but as a marketing tool it failed miserably. At once point we even threw money at it with campaigns on twitter and such and it still had no growth xD

I think I played it twice and was never that jazzed about it.  Of all the ways Stake rewards its players and community that one seemed the least tied to what the site was about.  It would be a great promotion for an exchange or something, not so much a gambling site.  Not saying it wasn't cool or nice, just seemed like an odd match for the site.  The challenges seem a much better match for example.

Yeah, seems like it might be better suited for an exchange to run that sort of competition lol. The challenges seem more geared towards the site I think as well.

I assumed that was the main reason you closed it. I guess the prizes were pretty big for such a contest and it lasted for a pretty long time so a big amount of bitcoin was lost because that was one of the best contest you had here on Stake and even with that the reward (for the forum) was not enough to support the time and money spent.

Yeah, considering the prize, we never got enough people playing sadly :( Not enough interest in the industry at the time. When you're offering close to 1 BTC in payouts, and only 130 average signups each month, it just wasn't all that great of a

I do miss it even though I wasn't very good at it but I can totally understand where Dan is coming from,  It's unfortunate that a few people have to mess it up for everyone but such is life.
