thoralinx Posted January 31 #1 Posted January 31 Heey lovely degens, Next to gambling I enjou a couple of different things. One of these things is learning about different countries and what their cultural dishes are Basically I'm a big fan of food❤️ So I would like to start a topic on the Forum called Cooking recipes As on stake there are more nationalities than i could count on one hand (maybe even two never learned to count further than 5) I would like to ask you, the food lover to post your favourite dish from your own country with the recipe. In this way we can learn from eachother and enjoy indirectly eachothers favourite dishes. The more people will join in the more recipes we get and foods we can try. This could be a very extensive post where a lot of people join in. Even if you are from the same country not everyones national dish is THEIR favourite national dish. So please I invite you all to post your recipes with food and maybe a finshed picture. RANDOM ADHD thought🤣 maybe MAAAAAAYBE we can get Eddie so crazy that he could turn it into a stake gambling cooking book. A Cookbook By DEGENfoodlover For FOODloverdegens. This would be a fun Christmass gift 🫡 and a nice merchandise item for stake Well anyways i talked enough about everything Let me kick off with the first recipe Pierogi Dough For 40 pierogi: 300 g wheat flour 20 g butter 1 egg a pinch of salt 125 ml boiling water Pierogi dough – recipe Sift the flour into a bowl and add salt. Put the butter into the boiling water so it melts, then gradually pour it into the flour. Mix everything with a spoon. Add the egg, combine all ingredients, and knead until the dough is smooth. Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 9 minutes. Wrap it in plastic wrap and set aside for about 30 minutes. Divide the dough into four parts, then roll each one out into a thin sheet, dusting the table with flour as needed. Cut out circles—ideally using a small glass—and place a heaping spoonful of filling in the center of each. Fold the dough in half and seal the edges carefully. Filling Ingredients 500 g beef 1 leek 1 parsley root 1 onion 1 bread roll 1 carrot 2 bay leaves 2 black peppercorns 1/4 celery root 1/4 stick of butter 3 allspice berries Dough Ingredients 500 g wheat flour 2 tablespoons oil salt 300 ml warm boiled water Filling preparation Place the meat in a pot and cover with about 1.5 liters of water. Add the soup vegetables and cook for 30 minutes. During cooking, add the bay leaves, peppercorns, and allspice, and cook for another 30 minutes. Soak the bread roll in boiled water. Dice the onion and fry it in butter until golden. Grind the meat together with the soaked bread roll, then add the onion. Season with salt and pepper. Mix thoroughly. Dough preparation Prepare the pierogi dough. Put the flour into a bowl, then add the oil and salt. Add the water gradually so all ingredients combine. Knead the dough until smooth. Divide the dough into two parts and roll each one out into a very thin sheet. Use a glass to cut out circles. Place the filling in the center of each circle and carefully seal the edges. Cooking the pierogi Drop the pierogi into boiling salted water with a tablespoon of oil. After they float to the surface, cook them for another three minutes. Pierogi are best served with onion sautéed in butter. Some people also add crispy bacon bits. Enjoy my favourite Polish food FilipTa, Vixentia, MilicaRa and 6 others 7 2
Ninjalips Posted February 1 #2 Posted February 1 Black Sage Risotto 🤤 Prep the Sage (Optional but Recommended): Heat butter till it turns a dark brown in a skillet. Fry a handful of sage leaves for 10 seconds until crisp, then drain on paper towels and season with salt. Sauté Aromatics: Melt the butter in a large pot. Add the chopped onion and garlic, cooking until soft (about 4 minutes). Toast the Rice: Add the Arborio rice to the onion mixture and stir for 1-2 minutes until the edges of the rice are translucent. Add Liquid: Pour in the white wine (if using) and stir until evaporated. Add the hot stock one ladle at a time, stirring constantly, ensuring each ladle is absorbed before adding the next. Finish: Once the rice is al dente (approx. 20 minutes), stir in the fresh shredded black sage, grated cheese, and a knob of butter to create a creamy texture. Serve: Season with salt and plenty of freshly ground black pepper. Top with the crispy fried sage leaves. MilicaRa, rn11100, thoralinx and 2 others 4 1

Stuffed bacon wrapped jalapeños (or bell peppers , which ever one u like)... 1 pack cream cheese 4 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese 2 lbs bacon (uncooked ) 4-10 jalapeños or bell peppers (either one is good) Mix cream cheese in a mixing bowl with 3 cups of sharp cheddar cheese . Then set to the side . Now wash and de-seed peppers then cut the peppers long way in half put a scoop of the cheese mix on the pepper then take a slice of the bacon and completely wrap it around the pepper. yaraliorgan Posted February 4 #9 Posted February 4 If the chicken pieces are large, chop them into bite-sized pieces. Cook them in a pressure cooker with 4 tablespoons of oil for 15 minutes after the steam has been released, without adding water. The meat will be cooked once it has released its juices and become tender. Meanwhile, chop the onion and peppers into bite-sized pieces and sauté them in oil. Add the chopped garlic and tomatoes and sauté well. Add the tomato paste, red pepper flakes, black pepper, and salt, then add hot water. Add the cooked meat to the boiling tomato paste mixture and cook for another 10 minutes. If there isn't enough liquid, you can add more. Dice the potatoes and fry them. Place the cooked meat in a serving dish, top with the fried potatoes, mix, and serve. ENJOY YOUR MEAL 😋 👍 👌

cks5593 Posted March 22 #15 Posted March 22 Beat me with simplicity "The answer to this challenge lies not in finding more complex recipes, but in mastering the core variables - heat, fat, and power. ' The minimalist strategy for 4 eggs and 2 handfuls of oil should be: do not break into the pot, preheat over high heat, fold to the center, and solidify at residual temperature. This process physically maximizes the lubrication and non-stick properties of the grease, and chemically utilizes the marble texture to avoid the dry taste caused by uniform denaturation In thermodynamics, the dryness caused by coordinated water loss is avoided by removing the fire in advance. This operation not only eliminates the need for bowls, egg beaters and other utensils, but also takes advantage of the natural heterogeneity of eggs to create a high-level sensory experience with both a crisp edge and a soft core. The real simplicity is the precise convergence after understanding the law IvanaBe and FilipTa 1 1

To be honest, if you have a frying pan with a ceramic coating, you don’t actually need any oil. So, four eggs can be the only ingredient you use to make this amazing dish, even without salt. 🤣 Just one and only ingredient: an egg. JovanaI, thoralinx and daffyducky 2 1

Moderator StefanTl Posted March 23 Moderator #19 Posted March 23 I just wanted to share a simple recipe I make pretty often. Ingredients: Pasta (any kind you like) Chicken breast Cooking cream Garlic Salt, pepper A bit of oil or butter Preparation: Cook the pasta in salted water. While that’s going on, cut the chicken into small pieces and fry it in a pan with a little oil until golden. Add chopped garlic and cook for another minute. Pour in the cooking cream, add salt and pepper, and let it simmer for a few minutes. Once the pasta is done, mix everything together. That’s it, it's super simple and tasty. You can also add mushrooms or cheese to make it even better. thoralinx 1

JovanaI Posted March 29 #23 Posted March 29 A super simple chicken and edamame salad that takes about 15 minutes to prepare. I love it because it has a good amount of protein, healthy fats, and fiber. I call it a power salad, when i need something super quick, but healthy enough to fuel my body. 😄 Ingredients: 2 chicken breasts 1 cup shelled edamame (cooked) 1 cup cooked quinoa 1 avocado, sliced 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved 1 cucumber, sliced 1 handful mixed greens (spinach/arugula) 2 tbsp olive oil Salt & pepper For the dressing: 2 tbsp soy sauce 1 tbsp sesame oil 1 tbsp lime juice 1 tsp honey 1 tsp grated ginger 1 clove garlic, minced Preparation: Season chicken with salt, pepper, and a bit of olive oil. Grill or pan-cook for 5–6 minutes per side until fully cooked. Let it rest, then slice. Then in a large bowl, combine quinoa, edamame, tomatoes, cucumber, avocado, and greens. Whisk together all dressing ingredients and add sliced chicken on top of the salad. After that, drizzle with dressing and toss lightly. Bon appétit. 😁 thoralinx, zhestka and StefanTl 3
