man i found that if you type in a random detail like "worn leather" or "dusty floor" it suddenly looks so much more real instead of that plastic sheen some of these models default to

Yeah that party scene one was insane, the shadows actually look correct for once. I mostly use Gemini too and find adding "cinematic lighting" in the prompt always fixes that weird default flat look it tries to give everything.

I tried a "robot dealing blackjack in a smoky 1920s casino" prompt once and the smoke came out lookin more like glowing spaghetti

if you're getting that plastic look try adding a film grain modifier at the end of your prompt, something like "iso 800 film grain" works wonders for stake themed casino scenes
