Would you mind if it was removed? with my opinion , i disagree to remove private messager on stake ! What happen if a communication have no private message then i have to tell everything on public even that i wanted to gjve only that user my social account ! or something other . This is the way to prevent scammer.... 5 hours ago, iamsheikhadil said: Hi Eddie! I would say that the personal message system is cool because now users have the settings to block people from messaging them until they add them as friends. Most trolls or spammers can be avoided if we enable this setting and to accept friend requests only from friends and people we trust. Removing the message system would be inconvenient for many as we won't be able to chat in private about anything we don't want to disclose in public i think there can be made stricter settings to prevent spams and messages from alts too. Defaulting the setting "message allowed only from friends" for new users would prevent new users or new high rollers from getting begging spams. agree
wry Posted June 2, 2019 #27 Posted June 2, 2019 I very much like private messaging. I actually use it quite a bit. It is a helpful way to warn people in a private way that they are violating the rules and thanking people for rains that they would prefer not be broadcast to the entire chat. So I would STRONGLY SUPPORT keeping private messages. I agree, that they, like anything, can be abused. What I would like to see is a "REPORT" option (button, drop down, whatever) that would automatically forward the message to support for sanction or maybe even just broadcast it in public chat so mods and support could see who is PM begging or scamming or whatever.. I just think we need to make bad actors on private messages as visible as bad actors in public chat. Right now too much work has to be done by the good guys, the victim has to take a screen shot and forward it to support for help and support is often drowned in tickets as it is. Make it easy for them to stop the bad guys.
bnd007 Posted June 2, 2019 #28 Posted June 2, 2019 i don't agree with deleting this part and i dont think it solves the problem at all as well! Because users desperately need a space to have private messaging, and where's better than the stake itself? at least u have some control over it here! if u remove it people will just turn to 3rd party messaging apps or even email which makes scamming waaay much easier for abusers.
martianarmy Posted June 2, 2019 #29 Posted June 2, 2019 Do not remove the private message feature. I will lost my friends if it gets removed. But if someone scams through PM, its our fault. But if you remove PM feature, Stake will die.
FotisNt Posted June 2, 2019 #30 Posted June 2, 2019 Well, I just hate limit on pm's but it's actually cool and avoids spam. LIke these link restrictions too! However, there are some common words which we can't type,
artizykristy Posted June 2, 2019 #31 Posted June 2, 2019 I really object if it was deleted edd. because I often talk to my friends through pm this is what helps. if they get scam via pm isn't that their fault why accept friends carelessly?
htetaungxx Posted June 2, 2019 #32 Posted June 2, 2019 private mesage is good for us to chatting with close friend, coz we can use any language and anything we can talk. how about to use some rule to sent fri request and PM. but we need to set message allowed only from friends in setting. sry for my english

Would you mind if it was removed? I think the pm option must stay available for those who use it for proper reasons. Personally I think the stake team has to take some drastic decisions according those who abuse several actions some members take. and with drastic mean drastic. Someone begging in general chatrooms or pm -> ban to chat or send pm for 1 week Someone spreading links of MLM hyip programs when other party did not requested -> ban in chat and pm for 1 week If they break that rule multiple times then you should even be more drastic like for example deny them from making satoshi in the forum ban them on receiving prizes if they win in a giveaway. (This can be easily tracked if tips are send out to winners) If they have a red M just do not send them the prize they won. Such people do not deserve to receive any winnings or free gifts. Those rewards can better be shared with those good community members
neich Posted June 2, 2019 #34 Posted June 2, 2019 there is very much abusing on it thats true, but in my opinion the option for pms should be not get removed
DinoEcstazy001 Posted June 2, 2019 #35 Posted June 2, 2019 That is good for our relationship with someone and private info
Aazzah Posted June 2, 2019 #36 Posted June 2, 2019 I think that private messages are a good idea. I also think that people that moan about it can actually do something about it. E.g. Put them ignored or disallow messages from random people.
ZangerRinus Posted June 2, 2019 #37 Posted June 2, 2019 Personally I do like the fact that there's the private message feature. I know it is maybe annoying when scammers/beggars abuse this feature, but on the other side is it the one who get scammed his/her own fault. WHY would you send money to someone you don't know? I still don't understand why people trust others that much with their money, if you keep it for yourself, you CAN'T get scammed, it's as simple as it is. Would you really delete a feature because of this? 🤔
sheenazbay Posted June 3, 2019 #38 Posted June 3, 2019 do not need to be deleted, because after all the private message is still very much needed for us to talk with friends that we cannot publish in chat, even though private mesaage is often misused
hustler1984 Posted June 3, 2019 #39 Posted June 3, 2019 while I do understand the reasoning behind considering removing the private message feature... it doesn't really avoid the problem... as people can just give their skype, msn, facebook, telegram ID and chat off the site.
skywallkee Posted June 3, 2019 #40 Posted June 3, 2019 Instead of removing it, rather try making it this way: create a pop up where it is written in BIG RED that you should never give your user and password no matter what as no admin/contest/etc will need and ask for it. And when it comes to links, if people fall for it then it can't be stake's fault. There already is one warning that the link is leading to another website. I do have positive experience with private messages, it's the best way to reach someone. If they aren't online, instead of writing in chat @username @username @username from 5 to 5 minutes to check if they can see that message, you could just leave the message to that person in private and he'll respond as soon as he's online, getting a notification that you actually searched them. Also, one more thing the private message is good for is preventing spam and unwanted discussions on chat. On chat we're on "public domain" so we can't say absolutely anything we want, but in private we can say whatever crosses our minds. That's a good thing, letting us have freedom at least in one place. Of course that freedom can cause problems, but it would be more troublesome without that freedom than with it. One more thing would be the spam regarding the bot. We already had a lot of spam with crypto conversion, imagine putting it back. And as a last thing, people that are falling in private surely will fall for scams in other ways too. Scammers can try and reach them out through telegram and still scam them as before, or through forum private messages or any other way. It just happens, on every large community there are people that are trying to profit out of it and also people that will fall for those bad people.
Ollarfreeman Posted June 3, 2019 #41 Posted June 3, 2019 i believe that private massage is good. it helps to interact more with different people. there is going to be abuse usage of it but in more better opinion i prefer we keep it. it is easy to block ore delete anyone that abuse it. or we get them reported to admin
DreamStage Posted June 3, 2019 #42 Posted June 3, 2019 Well you can not avoid such scammers and accusers on such topics concerning how Stake is being to them. You can only limit the usage of the private messages chat in a way to apply filters and max messages per day for a VERIFIED account. Just do the same limitations as you have from IPBoard Control Panel (check them out if you have not checked them all yet specially at version 4.x) Just please do not remove the private messages feature as it is one of both Primedice and Stake core features. And people will miss them eventually.
Moderator AlphaStorm Posted June 3, 2019 Moderator #43 Posted June 3, 2019 This is the only function that is missing here 😉I think that you need to let the user decide whether to use it or not. And bear responsibility for it (not to write a mountain of complaints of support if you were deceived in the PM - it's your fault, not ours)
jannine Posted June 3, 2019 #45 Posted June 3, 2019 dont remove private message system please,I really need that when I want to discuss it personally. removing PM is not a good way to avoid scammer and it's not a solution
Carollzinha Posted June 3, 2019 #46 Posted June 3, 2019 Maybe keep PMs but add a message to every new day you send a pm to anyone both of you will see a message warning about the risks of clicking external links and requesting / providing loans, make people aware that they are by their own if they still decide to do any of these things
jinz Posted June 3, 2019 #47 Posted June 3, 2019 I often use private message to discuss some things I don't want to share in chat or sometimes when me and the other party is talking about things that shouldn't be mentioned in chat because it's against the rules and we don't want to risk getting muted by the mods who are around. I agree to those who say that there should be a report button function in private message or something like that.
Etude Posted June 3, 2019 #48 Posted June 3, 2019 I think that the private messaging system should be kept intact while on the other maybe come up with a warning to users receiving the message from the new accounts to be cautious of the brand new account sending links or so forth to create more awareness of possibly getting scammed by clicking a dodgy link.
Shiest Posted June 3, 2019 #49 Posted June 3, 2019 Yes, I like having the private message platform. I think it would be super sad if you take it away. We need a place to speak privately sometimes and this is our outlet to do so. Otherwise we will have to use other websites to do so, which would take us away from yours... just a thought.
joseph66 Posted June 3, 2019 #50 Posted June 3, 2019 maybe spam filter , that can turn off or on so that the player can choose .
