Increase number of friends - Thoughts

hello friends i also agreed with you ,there was no restriction in adding friends or may increase up 500 too 1000.some time its frustration when you add after 100 numbers.attention eddie please increase it.

yea the friends list is pretty small its capacity is filled to quickly....theres times i get the to many friends error messege n its kinda annoying

i dont even want to add more than 20, why you want to add 100 or even more i dont know, do you want more pm beggars and more disturbance when you are rolling ? ofcourse not then why to add more people, i just dont know why people need big friend list and for what purpose.

You can't assume everyone who you don't know if a pm beggar. I know most of the players here because I have been here for a while, and there are way more than 100 legit and genuine players who I am friends with.

Yeah william i agree to your suggestion.

I hope stake will not limit the friends to add in stake. Because everyday we met new people, we laugh together, share a story to each other and Help one another but when the next day come we cant no longer reach them because we cant add them coz we already reached the limit of friends. I already reached the limit of 100 friends but when i meet new people i delete some friends that have a Capital B in their name which means banned players. I wish this suggestion of william will be notice of stake staff and approve it. 

So we can add more friends

Why do you want more friends? They have limit because not all your friends are active and not everyone have only 1 account, you don't know they have many alts just for pm beg, that's why they limit it for our safety.

That's up to each one for themselves to decide. The point I'm trying to make is why limit it in the first place? I mean if a user wants 99% of the community to be their friend, why limit them?

Hey william, I think that this would be a good idea. 100 friends is enough in my opinion, but, it is no harm having more aye! I 100% agree with what you're saying here william.

Yes I would really love this limit to be increased if you have more than 100 friends like you say you have to rely on the other person to have less than 100 friends and add you if you want to be friends with them.

The worst of it is even if you have more than 100 friends and accidentally unfriend someone you can't add them back especially if they have 100 friends as well, then it's impossible - they can't even add you back so you're stuck forever friendless with them, this happened with me and Irina for instance 😢

I would really like to see the friend limit improved have it up to 300 or 400 or even more why not. 

I think something that would help as well is if someone has been muted and they haven't been active in the chat for let's say 6 months (so assume they aren't going to be coming back) that they are automatically deleted from your friends list this would help free up friend spaces and also I'm sure help the server with its resources! 

With many friends in your friends list it does cause problems in the browser my friends list crashes a lot of the time when I click on it to view friends so I hardly ever use it to see who's online because it doesn't work very well I just use it to try and accept friend request if someone adds me as a friend and then I can see them as a friend in chat which is something that I think is really useful as more and more people are coming into Stake it's nice to be able to see our friends in the chat easily. 

But... As one of the unique features of Stake is the strength of the community, I think Stake should invest more resources into this part of the system so that we can accommodate a lot of friends and over the 100 friend limit, if this means allocating extra computing power or storage space, or recoding that part of the site more efficiently, I think that should be done because at the end of the day this is something that we all really like and also something that's probably a big part of Stake's success so why not invest in the hardware or coding time to continue to make that part of the platform great again!

Yeah there is a limit to how many friends you can add and how many people who can add you as friends at stake but basically, there is no limit to having friends. Its how they treat you and how you treat them back even if you arent adding each other as friends in the site.

Personally I find that 100 friends already leave you a lot of room, I can't believe that you are talking to more than 100 people here. If we add it it is absolutely useless from my point of view. I think there are a lot of people that you don't talk to and that you could delete to make room for other people.

I think 100 friends a big number I use stake chat maybe last 4,5 months but I just add 2 friends because I play just for small time if I add so much then how I talk every one that's why I not add when I online I talk just on chat

Agreed, i think maybe stake can add more this increase number of friends benefit for vip members. Like if you platinum, your number of friends increased by 50 or 100.

It didnt slow down the servers to have more than 100 friends on your list because they had it unlimited before and there wasnt any slow down on the site.

I do find it annoying because when I wanted to add someone I didnt know if I reached the limit or not because I was thinking it was the one who I was trying to add who had the 100 limit.

We could have different definitions of the word "friend" though, since I'd have to know more about a person (excluding online interaction) in real life, or at least have a proper conversation to call someone a friend. 😃

I can think of many people on the site that I have talked to in the past and I don’t want to remove them from my friends list. Even if some of them are inactive, I have had good chats with them before and I wouldn’t want them to think that I removed them as a friend on purpose.

Also, telling someone that you are removing them as a friend is just as bad as not telling them. It can really demotivate someone and it can ruin your relationship.

I think the number of friends is capped to 100 to avoid spamming. Some people could take advantage and offer friendship to many people and then spam them or just spam with those friendship requests.

I suppose so, but then again if their goal is to spam, they would not have "permanent" friends, but rather just constantly send new people friend requests. That's how I see it currently.

I really do not think it should have a limit I don't know what purpose that would serve.  Maybe they just did not think many would reach that point or not. But Me on the other hand is not even close so it really does not bother me.  But I could see how it would be negative for some people to try to weed thru their list just to add another person or not even be able to.

I'm not sure about the many friends here because this is the virtual world, I prefer to be anonymous and only have a few friends who are really friends that are enough for me.

As my opnion we don't need too many friend on list, but as for others people, as much as can add frist list good for that who like to have many friend on their list.
So, if we can ad friend like 500 at most is enought I think.

I want no limit to the number of friends, because I like to be friends, the more friends the better. especially here we can get to know each other despite different countries. I hope stake will make a list of friends without limits

It doesn't make much difference to me. I barely talk in private with someone. And another, not all friends are constantly active.

That way if you reach the limit you can exclude those who no longer interact. Simple!

Yes please do consider increasing the maximum limit of friends to way beyond the number of 100, as I find this to be too restrictive given that the Stake community is growing day by day to ten of thousands of active players in the most peak hours. The limitation to 100 friends only is a really big inconvenience.
