Bet verification chrome extension

Long time lurker/gamer but new member here in the forum! Hope it's OK to make this kind of post here.

I wanted to share a project I am currently working on: a browser extension for verifying bets on Stake. It uses Rust/WebAssembly so it's blazing fast and lightweight  The UI is really ugly right now, it's very much a work in progress. When it's more polished, I will open source it on GitHub and release it on Chrome Web Store.

you might consider some other functionality as I dont think repeat usage will be common on just a bet verifier function. Initially a new player may verify some bets to reassure themselves of the sites fairness, but after they confirm that these bets are legitimate they tend to assume everything is ok with the site, and don't feel a need to repeat that process.

Perhaps a martingale calculator, that tells players what the on loss percentage should be for any particular target multiplier.
For example if I am chasing a target of 10x, the plug in could tell me that my on loss should be 11.01%

Interesting observation. I was actually thinking of more deeply integrating with Stake in version 2 of the extension and maybe make it possible to have each bet verified automatically.

Regarding martingale calculator, it seems like an interesting an idea but I will focus on finishing this first.

Here's my latest iteration (still ugly but added support for a few more games, current supported games are: Baccarat, Dice, Limbo, Hilo, Blackjack).

Damn, good luck with this 😃 I believe this will take lots of time, because there's not a lot of verifiers here and especially a guy who's making a verifier for stake rolls, I'd clap for you, keep going.

I have a little understanding of what you mean, so this is an extension that can be installed on chrome and helps to verify the bet we have. I do not mind that the most important UI is easy to understand when using it.

I like this idea and it will be easier to do bet verification when you are curious , i tried the bet validation and i cant understand a thing as im not a techie guy , that extension plus video tutorial can make it way easier. Hope your release a beta version soon!.

If you're wondering why it requires the "read browser history" permission, it's because when you go on Stake.com's bet verification page, the extension reads the tab's URL to pre-populate the fields to match those on Stake.com's verification page. For example:

 

Keep in mind that this is just a first version. I have big plans ahead!

The only thing that I am wondering about this is that what makes it really different than using the site's verifier for it to gain more attention?

Thanks! It would be nice to be listed with the other tools in the verification page. Regarding your question, I will work on making it better over time, but at the moment, the big reason is trust. Let me get this out of the way: I have no reason to believe Stake is cheating its users and I don't mean to imply that at all.

That said, the beauty of "provably fair" gambling is that it allows players to gamble without having to trust the casino. So if you have absolutely no doubt that the casino is honest, there is no reason to verify bets. But if you have a little doubt or want to double check, you have the possibility to independently verify your bets to make sure you didn't get cheated. Using the casino's verification tool doesn't make sense because if they did cheat you, they could as easily cheat you with their verification tool. You therefore have to use a third-party, neutral verification tool.

That's where the Provably Fair extension comes into play. I have no affiliation with Stake and the verification library is open source so anyone (who knows programming) can verify that there is nothing fishy with the verification code: https://github.com/lucasholder/fair

I am not in the habit of playing this baccarat game, but I found this option very interesting because everything that concerns betting security is welcome, it is a good option to see if things are going smoothly, there will certainly be many people who will use this often.

I made this video on YouTube: 

Basically all you need to do is go on Stake's verification page and click on the extension's icon at the top of your browser. It will generate the game outcome using the client/server seed from Stake. You can then verify that the game outcome given by the extension matches the one Stake gave you.
